Formula: EBITDA = Net Income + Interest + Taxes + Depreciation + Amortization

EBITDA adds back financing costs (interest), tax expense, and non-cash accounting charges (depreciation and amortization) to net income, isolating how the core business performs operationally. In the example above, the five components sum to 165,000 in EBITDA.
