How the Markup Calculator Works

Formula: Markup (%) = ((Selling Price − Cost) ÷ Cost) × 100

Markup measures the increase over cost, whereas margin measures profit as a share of selling price — the two are related but not the same number. In the example above, a 60 cost priced at 90 carries a 50% markup.
