A forecast nobody checks afterwards is a wish. This template builds the forecast and then holds it to account.
Each of five product lines is forecast separately from the average of its last three real months, grown at a rate you set, adjusted by a base uplift, then shaped by a seasonal factor for each month. Growth compounds, which is how businesses actually grow, rather than applying a flat annual percentage.
As each month closes you enter the actual figure. Variance appears only for months you have filled in — a month with no actual yet is left blank rather than counted as a total miss, which is the mistake that makes most forecast trackers useless by March. The accuracy line tells you how far out you have been and over how many months.
Any forecast cell can be typed over when you know something the model does not. The totals still add up.

Please read
- A forecast built from your own history and your own assumptions. It is arithmetic, not prediction, and it cannot know about a contract you are about to win or lose.
- It assumes the future broadly resembles the recent past. A step change in the business breaks that assumption — override the affected months directly.
- Five product lines are provided.
- General information only, not financial advice.
- Sample data is included and clearly labelled. It is illustrative only.
- This is a tool, not financial, accounting, tax or legal advice.
