Balance Sheet Template

A balance sheet that does not balance is the most common spreadsheet failure in small business finance, and most templates leave you to find the gap yourself. This one tests both periods and tells you, in a sentence, whether they agree.

The layout follows the order a lender reads: current assets, non-current assets, current liabilities, non-current liabilities, equity. Two columns sit side by side so you can see what moved between periods rather than just where you stand today.

The Key Figures sheet turns the balance sheet into the three numbers people actually ask about — working capital, the current ratio and debt to equity — and shows the movement between the two periods.

It uses the same chart of accounts as the BabaDigit P&L, Cash Flow and Ratio Analysis templates, so figures carry across without re-keying.
